CCTV Installation for Businesses

Whilst there’s no legislation in place that dictates standards to which your CCTV systems should be installed, it’s a good idea to ensure your installation company are third party approved. This ensures that your CCTV installation at minimum, meets a set of criteria and standards, safeguarding yourself against inadequate workmanship.

NSI Approved

BusinessWatch is a National Security Inspectorate (NSI) Silver approved company. With over 40 years’ of experience, NSI has gained a reputation as the leading specialist certification body for the fire and security sectors. We are regularly audited by NSI to ensure we continue to meet their strict criteria, and NSI audits are renowned as thorough, professional and the toughest in the industry.

As an accredited and approved NSI company you can have the peace of mind that not only do we meet or exceed the highest possible business performance standards – both British and European – but all relevant staff are security screened for your safety. You, your business premises and the security of your employees is our main priority.

CCTV System Quotation

The first step is for one of our expert CCTV consultants to attend the site for an in-depth consultation and site survey. This allows us to really understand what you’re trying to achieve with regards to your site security, and we can guide you through the options available, answer any questions and even suggest solutions you may not have considered.

Following this consultation, our in-house design team will then design a CCTV system to suit your specific business requirements. Whether your main concern is to deter break ins, monitor time management of staff, or record footage for health and safety concerns, your system will be designed with your specifications in mind.

Based on this design, you’ll then receive a comprehensive proposal detailing suggested systems, various options and legal considerations.

CCTV System Installation

On acceptance of the proposal, our Service Centre of Excellence will contact you to arrange a suitable time for the installation of your CCTV system.

You’ll receive a phone call from your NSI approved engineer beforehand to let you know they’re on their way. They’ll then install your CCTV system to strict NSI guidelines.

Commissioning

Once your CCTV system is installed, your BusinessWatch engineer will commission the system. You will be issued with an NSI Certificate of Compliance to state that your system meets the minimum NSI standards.

If your CCTV system is to be monitored, your engineer will set this up and ensure the relevant signals are in place and working correctly. Following this, your engineer will demonstrate to you or the relevant person how to use the system.

You’ll also receive a CCTV System Log Book. This has sections to detail the following:

  1. Details of the premises, the administrator and the installer’s and maintenance company’s details
  2. A record of the control equipment and the hardware or cloud-based system used to store the data
  3. A Camera Log: all camera types, part numbers, etc. to simplify maintenance visits
  4. Incident Log: to record notable incidents including date, time and location on data storage together with the details of the incident itself and what subsequent action was taken
  5. Faults and repairs
  6. Service access
