Introduction

BusinessWatch  Group Ltd (the “Company”) is committed to driving out acts of modern-day slavery and human trafficking within its business and that from within its supply chains, including subcontractors and partners.

This statement sets out the company’s actions to understand all potential modern slavery risks related to its business.

Organisation Structure & Background

The company offers support and helps businesses to manage security risks inclusive of prevention of loss of life and property through risk assessment, design, installation, maintenance, monitoring of their security system provisions and, where applicable, providing security guarding and training.

The company operates its business through its subsidiaries, the majority of which are wholly owned.

The company’s headquarters are in Leeds – Sherburn in Elmet, Batley West Yorkshire, and Peterborough.

The company acknowledges responsibility to the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

As part of the security sector, the company recognises that it has a responsibility to take a robust approach to slavery and human trafficking.

The company is absolutely committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in its corporate activities, and to ensuring that its supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking.

The company will ensure transparency within the organisation and with suppliers of goods and services to the organisation, i.e. the supply chain within the BusinessWatch Company of companies.

As part of the company’s due diligence processes, the supplier approval process incorporates a review of the controls undertaken by the supplier, particularly in situations where goods are imported from sources outside the UK and EU which are recognised as potentially being more at risk for slavery/human trafficking issues.

The company considers its current level of operations as a manageable risk, given that it provides services in the UK only.

The company directors and senior management take responsibility for implementing this statement and its objectives.

Company Employees

Our employees are all provided with a written contract of employment and undertake training in relation to our ethical code and standards.

Each employee has a personal responsibility to read the Code as well as to ensure that they fully understand our obligations and the consequences associated with any breach of those obligations.

Adequate resources will be provided (including training as necessary) and investment to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place within the company nor within its supply chain.

The company encourages all its workers, customers and other business partners to report any concerns related to the direct activities, or the supply chains of, the organisation. This includes any circumstances that may give rise to an enhanced risk of slavery or human trafficking.

The company’s code makes clear to employees the actions and behaviour expected of them when representing the organisation. The organisation strives to maintain the highest standards of employee conduct and ethical behaviour throughout its operations and in managing its supply chain.

Suppliers & Procurement

The company is committed to ensuring that its suppliers adhere to the highest standards of ethics.

The use of service provider contractors in the company largely relates to facilities support, e.g. engineers, security guards and cleaners.

The company also uses IT contractors in parts of the business and in general, does not enter into individual arrangements for these roles, instead engaging with reputable IT sourcing companies.

Suppliers are required to demonstrate that they provide safe working conditions where necessary, treat workers with dignity and respect, and act ethically and within the law in their use of labour.

The company works with suppliers to ensure that they meet the standards of the code and improve their worker’s working conditions.

Serious violations will lead to the termination of the business relationship.

Recruitment/Agency Workers

The company uses only specified, reputable employment agencies to source labour and always verifies the practices of any new agency it is using before accepting workers from that agency.
